1 .The art of lacquer craft

Close to Big Snow Mountain and Eight-Deity Lumber Yard, Fengyuan has plenty of timber supply for the development of lacquer ware. The technical skill is rather advanced since the Japanese occupation, producing many master craftsmen. Fengyuan was once the largest distribution centre of lacquer ware in Taiwan.

2.Calabash Craft

The gourd is much used in home cooking. The community has worked on the theme and developed
Calabash Feast that features a wide range of arts and crafts and shows. There is also a floral arrangement style evolved from the subject, a fine example of integrating industry with culture.

3.Oil Painting

The city's natural beauties have drawn many artists, and boasts the largest painter population in the country.  The art community is an important equity of the city.

II. Celebrated Local Treats

1. Pastry

Fengyuan City has long been known for her pastries.  The old shops are so favored that many has branches island-wide. The traditional taste keeps visitors coming back for more.

2.Calabash Rice

The locally produced rice is renowned both domestically and internationally. With two harvests a year, the production volume is around 33 million metric tons. Welcome for its whiteness of grain, flavor, sweetness and texture, Fengyuan Rice was presented to the emperor of Japan, therefore also
known as Tribute Rice (namely Formosa Rice). It is one of the most representative products of the region.

3. Tangerine

The temperate climate and rich soil come together to yield juicy, sweet tangerines. The plantation covers 178.84 hectares. In recent years, most of the grounds have been converted to incorporate tourism features. Together with the orchards in Kunglaoping, it is now a distinct tourism feature of this city.
